Just a reblog of everything that pulls my interest, i.e. none of it is mine or original. If you're not yet 21 years old, no offense but go away. And if there's anything on this blog that shouldn't be, let me know and down it goes. Enjoy.
Kodak Girl c.1900. How ironic to see a woman as the image of Kodak when the field historically was dominated by men! It was very hard for me to break into the field in the 1980's as I represented only 11 percent of female photographers in the country. I had older males ask me things like would my period stop me from showing up to work and what was the matter with me...didn't I want children?
Man Ray (1890 –1976), was a pioneer in 20th century avant-garde art and photography and a leading figure in the Dada and Surrealist art. In 1922, Man Ray invented a new method of creating a photograph, which he called ‘rayograph.’ Instead of producing photographs from a negative, Ray created photographic images by placing objects directly on photosensitive paper. He also experimented with solarization, creating a photographic image from a negative form.
