Self-Portrait Collage with paper scraps - great idea to clean out bits and pieces of patterned paper. Give your child's portrait some dimension using Pop Up Glue Dots for the eyes, nose and mouth and use Ultra Thin or Craft Glue Dots to layer the scraps on top of each other.
I like the idea of a self portrait using mixed media - might have to use this one for class, perhaps pick 4 artists and styles? Picasso, Dali, LItchenstein, Rembrant, etc. Must pick 4 artists that we studied in class.
Each table gets a color in pencils, markers, and crayons. 4th grade can use two colors; the main color and an analogous color.I did this and it was beautiful! Only, instead of colors by table, I did colors by individual. Point to a kid: Red Orange Yellow etc.... No fighting over materials that way.
Silhouette Self-Portraits Great free art ..Students create a collage of things that represent them at this point in their lives. So, some are doing shopping, sports, food, etc. Add text- words that represent them (ie. kind, athletic, smart, funny, reliable) to get them thinking of some traits that are unique to them
