This wonderful photo of catering volunteers at the 1934 Cobargo Show, supplied by Ray Sawtell, appears on the title page along with a dedication to all the volunteers that help keep the tradition of country shows alive.

The work of another Ekka show cook to help celebrate the Brisbane launch. This beautiful petticoat tail shortbread is made according to a traditional Scottish method by Faye Solomon. The little blue flag was placed there by the stewards after judges gave it a blue ribbon in 2010.
