MUHAMMAD ALI: "Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs?" "I got nothing against no Viet Cong. No Vietnamese ever called me a 'nigger'."
THE ART AND STUDIO SPACE OF REBECCA RINGQUIST (Craft Magazine) Embroidery artist, Iviva Olenick, of Were I So Besotted, shared her recap of the Connective Thread fiber art show at Sweet Lorraine Gallery in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The work of one of the artists she mentioned really caught my attention. Rebecca Ringquist creates gorgeous pieces combining hand embroidery and freehand machine embroidery and found stitched linens. I love her style and the rich, textural feel of her work.
