50s -No Label- Womens peachy orange and creamy taupe, blended cotton, shirtwaist dress, having short sleeves, with turned back cuffs. Vertical and French darts shape the bodice, with fabric covered buttons fastening the front, to the waist, below the narrow fold over collar.
70s -Leslie Pomer- Womens red, white and black polyester longsleeve mid length knit dress. A patterned horizontal stripe, with slanted faux button flaps, princess seams, a contrasting topstitched fold over collar, button front half placket and removable matching tie belt.
Late 50s -Lady Manhattan- Womens cream background cotton, mid length, short sleeve shirt dress with button front closure, modest v-neckline with thin notched fold over collar and optional roll back half sleeve styling. Dress has darted bust, inverted flat pleat back for ease in fit and mid waist seaming with matching belt that falls to full tight box pleated skirt. Really a fantastic shirt style day dress in awesome vintage condition!
Jean Patchett in grey wool chevron tweed princess coat by Handmacher, cover photo by Horst, Vogue, September 15, 1951 so it seems vogue had a "more taste than money" thing going for a while as this is the third time i've seen it on a cover from the 50s. can you imagine!? so unlike today's vogue.
70s -Pop Ins- Womens medium blue cotton denim with gold topstitching, longsleeve snap front jeans jacket with zippered breast pockets, tapered body and side slits, front and back square yoke, pointed collar and snap cuffs (washed but darker areas on back, a little fading on sleeves)
