Cast-On Stitch Video- The cast-on stitch is a dimensional embroidery stitch. It sits up off the fabric, creating a textures stitch that works well for flower petals & for anywhere that you want clusters of texture on your embroidery. Cast-on stitch is widely used in Brazilian Embroidery, which is a very textured embroidery that focuses on floral designs. No matter what type of embroidery you like to do, the cast-on stitch works brilliantly for adding dimension and texture. Worth learning!
The first stitch is a single herringbone and then filled in the curve with closed herringbone making bigger stitches on the outside curve. I suggest you draw the shape/curve you want onto the fabric. It is quick and easy to do and can be used 'as is' or add extra stitches and beads for a CQ block.
