The Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov and battlecruiser Pyotr Velikiy returned to its home base in Severomorsk, Wednesday after it has been deployed in Syria since October 2016. Built in 1987 the Admiral Kuznetsov carries 1,980 sailors plus aircrew, and is capable of deploying 50 aircraft. The aircraft carrier cruiser entered active service in 1991.
