With Phil Silvers in Lucky Me...

The inspiration for this post came from my trip the grocery store this past weekend. At the entrance to the store sat a WWII veteran and his wife, both dressed completely in red, white & blue. They were selling crepe-paper poppies for donations on behalf of the local American Legion. After donating and receiving a poppy, we chatted with them for a moment and I wondered what the meaning was behind the poppy. After a little research, here is the poppy story.
