Early Scandinavian disc-on-bow brooch. 6th-7th century C.E. In the British Museum.

A disk brooch ornamented with filigree sun design. Crafted out of gilded bronze, glass, and stones. Made in the 600s for a Merovingian Frankish nobleman in northern Gaul (along the Rhineland). Currently on view at the Walters Art Museum.
