Surrealism and Visionary art: Shiori Matsumoto, She was born in1973 in the Kagawa-prefecture of Japan. She majored in interior design and Japanese woodcraft in high school. She studied Western art history and oil painting in The Kyoto Saga University of Arts. She is influenced by surrealism, symbolism, modern illustration, and many things in Japanese subculture.
Zombie Cactus -- I like sculptural, expressive forms. Pop Surrealism is heavily dominated by illustrators, but once in a while, you see a sculptor hop onto the scene and you can tell because of their pieces are more sculptural and less painted on or attached in separate piece (ie. the eyes) Both approaches are great and I use both, but as a sculptor, I relate more to the sculptural approach.
