This is the Widow Blakely cannon. It was used during the Civil War to defend Vicksburg. Today it overlooks the Mississippi River and the bridges that cross over it.

Vicksburg, MS is the town I get to when driving from Dallas back to my family home in MS. It's always great to see the mighty Mississippi River and Vicksburg. This is a huge Civil War memorial area.
