Miss Severn is 26ft long, 6ft wide and weighs 4300 lbs. She is powered with a World War II Rolls Royce Meteor V12 engine of 1650 cubic inches. Miss Severn was completed in 1994 from a set of plans developed by John Hacker to meet the new rules for Gold cup racing in 1922. The original boat was built from the same set of plans in 1922 and was called Arab VI .
Tempo VI Ventnor. Allison V12 powered . Tempo was built in 1938 as My Sin, G-13, for mattress magnate Zalmon Simmons. It was designed by Adolph Apel and constructed by the Ventnor Boat Works. The two-seater was powered by a V-16 Miller. In its first season, the boat was unable to run in the APBA Gold Cup. All that changed a year later when Simmons won the Gold Cup in straight heats. The engine had been rebuilt by Charles Zumbach. Factory tested at over 100 mph!
