The recently-released Monkees album Good Times! features some sonically-refurbished tracks from the band's vaults and a number of new tunes written by the likes of Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie, and XTC's Andy Partridge, who penned the season-appropriate new single "You Bring the Summer."
Black Sea. Shawn brought this to a party at my house hoping to be able to give it whirl. He ended up "forgetting" it. I decided to give the boys another try. I wish I could say that it was "love at first sight," more like third. I could not stop playing this record. It was a few months before I ever gave back to Shawn. I have to thank Shawn for turning me on to this band. They have brought me so much joy. I will be forever grateful. RIP Shawn.

The return of the Durutti Collumn: Fact 14.The original 3600 LP sleeves were notably made of sandpaper, designed to scratch LPs which were placed on either side of it. The sleeves were assembled by members of the bands and label-mates Joy Division and A Certain Ratio. The initial two-thousand copies also included a flexi-disc single with two tracks by producer Martin Hannett: "First Aspect of the Same Thing" and "Second Aspect of the Same Thing".
