Really great single crochet variations! This one is chain as many as you like but make sure it's an odd number - single crochet the first row like normal, then on the next rows, SC in the front loop of first SC, SC in the back loop of NEXT SC, and continue through the whole pattern (of course turning rows).

Crochenit or double-ended crochet, aka cro-hooking If you haven't tried this technique, you must. It's starting to enjoy a revival again. Makes a lovely two-sided fabric. I used a self-striping yarn on one end and cream on the other. ༺✿ƬⱤღ✿༻
