Blue pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is Turko-Persian in origin.The use of blue glaze on pottery made from, Fuller’s earth, is essentially a foreign art which was imported into India.The name 'blue pottery' comes from the eye-catching blue dye used to color the pottery. The technique permeated down to the plains of Delhi, and in the 17th century ended up in Jaipur. The rulers of Jaipur greatly encouraged the art & was used to decorate their palaces.
