A coffee press is a great way to enjoy coffee at home. However with each brew—oils, grounds, and residue get trapped inside the filter, which can ruin the flavor of a freshly brewed press. We recommend cleaning it properly after every brew. It's easy. 1. Lefty loosey: remove the filter from the plunger by unscrewing it. 2. Clean: Scrub each part of the filter with soap and water to remove oils & residue. 3. Righty-tighty: Cross plate (bottom), filter screen (between) spiral plate (top).
This website shows you how to make your own powder, blush and eyeshadow. She used charcoal for eyeshadow mixed with cocoa and cinnamon. The blush looked like more work. She used hibiscus flowers ground in a coffee grinder then put thru a sieve so to use just the extra fine bright pink flower mixed with cornstarch and cocoa and cinnamon. Sounds like a fun project to do as a group or bridal shower.
Brewing with a Coffee Press is easy. Start by adding 2 tbsp of coarsely ground coffee per 6 oz of water. Pour water just off the boil over the grounds in a swirling motion, allowing them to “bloom” (bubble). After about 4 minutes, slowly press down the plunger. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy.
