The Rohwer Relocation Center in Desha County, Arkansas was one of two World War II–era incarceration camps in the state, the other being the Jerome Relocation Center nearby. From 1942 - 45, 16,000 Japanese Americans were brought from the West Coast. The Rohwer camp cemetery is all that remains. It is now a National Historic Landmark.
