Dan Aykroyd was a member of the Second City comedy troupe in 1973 in both Toronto and Chicago before becoming an SNL original cast member and receiving an Academy Award nomination in 1990 for Best Supporting Actor.

Dan Aykroyd was born in 1952 in Ottawa, Ontario. He is an Academy Award-nominated Ottawa comedian, actor, screenwriter and musician. He was an original cast member of Saturday Night Live, an originator of the Blues Brothers and has had a long career as a film actor and screenwriter.
