St Peter's Catholic Church, Harper's Ferry Virginia-Built in the late 1830's, this church was the only one to survive the Civil War. The church was used as a hospital & Father Costello cared for the wounded. One of the soilders was not as severe, so he was left in the yard. When finally carried in the church, he whispered "Thank God, I'm Saved", & passed away. People say that some nights they will see a golden glow in the church & hear a weak voice whisper, "Thank God I'm Saved".
