1. proof 1 pkg (1/4 oz) dry yeast w/ 1/2t sugar and 2 T warm H20 2. in stand mixer w/paddle: 2 1/2c AP flour and 1/4c sugar 3. add proofed yeast, then 4 eggs 4. gradually add 1 stick softened butter 5. knead w/dough hook 8-10 min (add up to 1/2c more flour if too sticky) 6. cover and rise 2x (~1.5 hrs) 7. roll into 8" x 14" and spread 10 oz dark chocolate, chopped 8. roll into log and place in prepared 8.5" x 4" loaf pan 9. cover and rise 1 hr 10. egg wash 11. bake @ 375 for 30-40 min

Basic yeast dough (Famian). My friend Nicole introduced these to me in Atlanta 20 years ago. 6 years ago I would buy homemade versions, in batches, from a coworkers mom (I don't remember her Asian heritage) in Va Bch. I'd freeze them and then reheat when hungry. A couple seconds in the microwave and a filling yummy meal was ready. I'm excited to see if I can recreate it.
