This is me, captain Greg, showing three fingers indicating a triple reef in the main sail and still cooking along. This day was gorgeous, but the night came and in blew a depression and we got caught in our second gale (four days out from St John's NL) This was the scariest time of our journey. Waves in the 20-30 ft range and wind gusts over 50kts. Normally that might be ok but it lasted 36 hours. We were tired, really tired. Notice my sailing helmet.
