awesome end of the year hallway display. "Leaving Shadows of Preschool Behind." stand the kids in front of a light and traced their reflections on black banner paper to make full body silhouettes. I want to do this with my Fifth graders at the end of the year.!!!
Children can create beautiful silhouettes with cut out shapes from magazines, or create their own! Lay the cut out on a piece of paper (or use a small bit of gluestick to prevent movement) Paint over the shape with watercolors, rub with crayons, or smudge with pastels- when the cut out is removed, a beautiful silhouette remains. A great art project for animal studies or for learning about shadows and light!
Silhouette Art: The picture shown is for Halloween, but any scene can be easily done. First, paint the background in sunset colors. Allow to dry. Cut shapes out of black construction paper. Buildings, trees, animals...etc. Use your imagination. Use a glue stick to attach to painted background, and voila! Finished :)
