This Lemon Jello cake is one that I have made for many years. It's one of my favorite cakes. I take a fork and poke holes into the warm cake after it comes out of the oven and then put the glaze on top of it. This allows it to go down into the cake.
If you're looking for a classic pumpkin cake that won't take ages to make, this is it! Sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar in place of drizzling with the frosting, or top servings with whipped cream.
Clay Pot Cake Stand - you could take this in a lot of different directions! I'd use a food grade sealant on it. I have clear plexiglass cake circles that could sit under the cake without taking away from the look or putting the food directly on the paint.
