These photos are at first flat and graphic, but the depth is implied by the imperfect surface of the mirrors and bits of paper towel sometimes in the shot, suggesting that her studio and photo equipment are just out of frame. They're almost too easy to associate with fun house mirrors and illusionist tricks, but I like just how fun her work is to look at because I can go back and forth between seeing the image as a graphic pattern, or as an event that she fabricated in a studio space.
"The line_up is a paperwork series I developed in 2010 -13, the “liners” are made out of paper (Din A4) , oil paint and graphite, the theme are the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers." Yano Mano contemporary abstract art
