1960. A view of the Veelaan in Amsterdam-Oost. The Veelaan is a street in the former Oostelijk Havengebied of Amsterdam. The street takes its name from the old cattle market and city abattoir that were located nearby. Some of the buildings are still standing. Since the redevelopment of the area the street has become an important traffic artery connecting the Indische Buurt with the the Oostelijk Havengebied.
