Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park, New Zealand Mount Ruapehu, or just Ruapehu, is an active stratovolcano at the southern end of the Taupo Volcanic Zone in New Zealand. It is 23 kilometres northeast of Ohakune and 40 kilometres southwest of the southern shore of Lake Taupo, within Tongariro National Park.
The Passenger Train "Overlander" bewteewn Auckland & Wellington Rtn, crosses many structures. I believe this viaduct is in the Rangatikae Region. (Can't remember) Help appreciated please. (Pic curation & caption: @BillGP)
Ohakune, at the base of Mt Ruapehu (North Island, New Zealand) is beautiful summer and winter. Make sure you get a room with a view of that beautiful mountain - when it's lit up at night for the ski fields, it truly is magical.
