I am Black History

In the case of my own African American family I am black history being the first to go to college ultimately graduate and go on to graduate school. My education is my greatest asset! And more urban families should put more emphasis on education.

I think this picture is saying a lot because what is black? Not all 'Black" people are from Africa, BLACK PEOPLE ARE ALL OVER THE WORLD. This is one of the most ignorant stereotypes on "black" people in America.

Remembering my African heritage and ancestry is extremely important to me. The contributions my ancestors made to human civilization and the struggles they endured prove to me that Africans were truly history-makers.

Fredrick Douglas, (1818 – 1895),  was an African-American social reformer, orator, writer and statesman. After escaping from slavery, he became a leader of the abolitionist movement, gaining note for his dazzling oratory and incisive antislavery writing.
