This is an extremely rare, possibly unique, Derby porcelain biscuit figure of "Summer" from the series The Four Chelsea Seasons, c1775. Summer stands around 5 inches high and is clearly marked to the base with the incised mark No 125 and also with an incised number 3 which will be the size. There is also the remains of an old collector's sticker. Condition is also very good, all we can detect are some very minor nibbles to the flowers, leaves, bocage etc.

Derby Porcelain Figure Crying Boy c1775 A Derby porcelain figure of a crying boy. This is a patch mark figure, the name given to the marks on the base resulting form the figure being stood on pads of clay during the firing of the glaze. These became prominent on Derby figurines around 1760, they were also prominent on some Chelsea gold anchor figurines of the same period. This figure if from the Chelsea-Derby period and is Derby manufactory production.
