National Study Finds #LGBT #Seniors Face Harder Old Age: A study is turning attention toward a group of seniors who face unique (and ignored) needs; a group whose numbers are expected to be more than 4 million by 2030--#lesbian, #gay, #bisexual and #transgender (LGBT) boomers. Researchers surveyed 2,560 LGBT adults aged 50-95 across the United States, to find that they had greater rates of #disability, #depression, loneliness and #distress compared with heterosexuals of similar ages.

SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders) is the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults.

The Team DC Student-Athlete Scholarship is awarded to a self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) student-athlete who has made a contribution to the sport(s) he or she is a part of and, as a result of his or her contributions and involvement, has enhanced the perception of the LGBT community. Awards are made to graduating high school seniors in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area who will be attending a fully accredited two or four year college/university.

Most had no children to act as caregivers, while lifelong partners lacked the spousal benefits that straight couples take for granted. But the more that mainstream America accepts gay rights, the brighter the future becomes.

In 2013, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Network ("LGBTN") held their European Conference in Paris. Close to 50 BCG LGBT consulting staff met up at BCG in Paris, with representation across all levels ranging from Associates to Partners to members of BCG's senior leadership team, and a keynote speech by Pascal Nègre, CEO of Universal Music for Europe. Encouraged by the great success story from other offices across Europe, BCG Switzerland started its own LGBT campaign.
