Growing up in one of the biggest hot spots along their southward migration route, the Monarch Butterfly has been a long-time inspiration for me and my art. I have always found it amazing how an insect, weighing less than a paperclip, can travel more than 2,000 miles to a place it has never been. A place where it's parents and grandparents and great-grandparents have never seen. Throughout the fall, hundreds people come from miles around in hopes of seeing a peek flight or roosting spot, and to participate in tagging demonstrations, programs, walks and lectures. If you are a fellow Monarch lover, or know someone who is (or you just like butterflies), this is the perfect pattern for you. Here is one of my original freeform peyote stitch patterns of the Monarch Butterfly. The finished work (using 11/0 Delica beads) measures 2.23" x 3.47" & can be used as a pendant, broach, or sewn onto your favorite accessory. ►This is a digital PATTERN in PDF format only - NOT a finished product.
