Slow Cooker Baked Beans with Ham - Remember to soak the dried beans overnight. The ham could certainly be omitted from this recipe but, if you can find enough change under the couch cushions it's worth buying one of the small pre-cooked ones. Non-Perishable ingredients include: 2 1/2 cups dried navy beans, white wine vinegar, maple syrup, tomato paste, ground mustard & cinnamon, salt. The only additional ingredient is a medium onion (and a small pre-cooked ham if you can get one).
Smoky Baked Beans Recipe -They’ll be standing in line for this saucy bean recipe, full of campfire flavor. A variation on colorful calico beans, it makes a great side dish with all your cookout favorites. —Lynne German, Cumming, Georgia
This is more a method than it is a recipe, but I tried it with navy beans and it actually works. Just think of it! Dry beans cooked in less than 2 hours (mine cooked in 90 minutes) and you dont even have to pre-soak them. I found this at a site called the Kitchn. It says in the article that you can also use a clay pot.
