7th century BC box decorated with hieroglyphs of gold on its front side and hieroglyphs of a platinum-gold alloy on the back. The piece resides in the Louvre. The platinum alloy was discovered by notable chemist Marcellin Berthelot according to his reports in his 1901 work 'Comptus Rendus'. This is the oldest use of platinum we know.

Medinet Habu is the Arabic name for a huge temple complex second only to Karnak in size & is better preserved.
