***UPDATED 10/20/13 In order to educate my students on why we celebrate and more importantly honor Veterans, I have created this 27-page writing prompt and Dog Tag craft. Not only did they write friendly letters to veterans, but they also learned about the history of military dog tags and why poppies are often symbolic of Veterans Day.
Having your students write about Veterans Day is a wonderful way to honor our veterans while strengthening their writing skills. This resource can be used with any prompts you select and is a great complement to any Veterans Day craft project too.
Veterans Day: November 11th is Veterans Day. Are you taking time out to learn about Veterans Day in your classroom? If so, your students will enjoy this fun Veterans Day 'fact find' word search. If your students are like mine, they love these puzzles!
You get two Veterans Day puzzles - a Word Search and Veteran's Day Word Scramble. Fun word puzzles. The Word Scramble has 18 words related to Veterans Day - such as heroes, honor, patriotic, military, veteran, etc. Like a jumble, students have to unscramble the letters to come up with the words.
