Leyendecker was the premier cover illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post for almost 50 years, and perhaps the most famous illustrator of his time. Leyendecker’s lifetime companion, Charles Beach, was often a model for his illustrations, and posed for his most famous image, the “Arrow Man” shirt advertisements.
