Slovakia's GDP is expected to grow by 3.5% this year, according to the latest forecast of the Slovak National Bank. "The Slovak economy continues to grow at a rate of more than 3%. It's expected that this growth will continue to create new jobs in the future, although with a slower pace than in this year," said Vice-Governor of the National Bank Ján Tóth.

Pozor / Warning: heavy hailstorms forecast for central, western, eastern Slovakia today. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Office (SHMU) has released a first-level warning in effect until 20:00. Expected hailstorms may bring intensive downpours up to 40 mm + winds of up to 80 km/h. SHMU warns to take care near small rivers which may swell quickly, and prepare cellars in flood-prone areas.
