Dog treats - 1/2c milk (low fat or fat free), 1c peanut butter and 3 c rolled oats. Combine 1st two ingredients then add the oats 1/2c at a time. Scoop and roll into balls - place on baking sheet lined w parchment paper. Refrigerate >1hr. Keeps 3wks in fridge or 4mo in freezer.
Jerky For Dogs (And People, Too!) 1 flank steak (approx. 1 1/2 – 2 lbs) 1/4 c. low-sodium soy sauce 2 tsp honey 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder Cut the meat, with the grain, into thin strips. Toss the meat strips in the marinade. Cover and let sit in the fridge for about an hour. Bake for 7 hours at 150* on a baking sheet covered with foil. Both garlic powder and onion powder have not been shown to be toxic,
EASY Home Made Dog Treats Dog Treats 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (natural is best–no sugar!) 1 cup water 3 cups flour Cut dough into desired shapes before baking. I use cookie cutters for treats I plan to give away, but just a pizza cutter for our dogs. Bake for 20 minutes at 350, cool, break apart and serve. Freezes nicely. (Bored-fixin to make these right now!)
DIY: Homemade Organic Dog Treats:: 2 cups 100% organic whole wheat flour 2 (4oz) jars of pureed baby food - beef, blueberry, sweet potato, chicken - whatever. Just make sure there are no onions/onion powder in it*. Avoid any with artificial preservatives (should be easy, most are just pureed veggies and water).
