Rob Roy MacGregor, Stirling Castle. Robert Roy MacGregor (Gaelic: Raibeart Ruadh MacGriogair; baptised 7 March 1671 – 28 December 1734) was a Scottish outlaw, who later became a folk hero. He has been called "the Scottish Robin Hood".
This monument marks the spot where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745 known as the Jacobite Rising. Set amidst superb Highland scenery at the head of Loch Shiel, Near Fort William. The Glenfinnan Monument is a tribute to the clansmen who fought and died for the cause of Prince Charles Edward Stuart.
