“Aeschylus writes, "In our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.” ― Madeleine L'Engle~~Face of an Angel - Montmartre Cemetery, Paris
Old paris Cemeteries | The Montmartre Cemetery has also been called by some, the cemetery of the artists. It has become quite the tourist spot, and if you have visited you will understand why. To wander through the 11 hectares of peacefulness and serenity one would never imagine it was used as mass burial grounds during the French Revolution. The Montmartre Cemetery was established in 1825, and since then has become one of the most famous cemeteries in Paris, France.
Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Paris Not everyone is a fan of cemeteries. But this is one of the most beautiful cemeteries I have ever seen. Get a map nearby. There's plenty to see; amazing photographs to be taken; cats everywhere. It's one of my favorite spots.
