The Capitol building in Des Moines is still one of the neatest ones in the country. If you haven't ever checked it out you really should! The top is covered in real gold leaf paper that is so thin that if you were to collect it all it would only be about the size of a softball!
The sunset in Des Moines last night was shut out by these clouds but they made for a nice texture in the sky during the blue hour! This perspective was taken from next to the Iowa Supreme Court building across the street from the Capitol where I usually would take a downtown shot from. #beautifulworld #picoftheday
Another day another lighthouse! I love the Oregon coast for all of its wonderful variety of landscapes to explore. Dangerous cliffs to violent seas and wide flat beaches to simplistic seascapes. There is always something new to see out there!
Another bit of a throwback to Cape Meares Lighthouse atop those ultra tall and ever stunning cliffs. The Oregon coast is full of beautiful sights like this one up and down it! If you ever get the chance this is one location of many to check out!!
The fantastic St. Johns Bridge at sunset last night shooting. I did a bunch of portraits that turned out great and at the end of the shoot I grabbed this one for myself as the sky was putting on quite the show for the first time in a couple weeks. It was a good break also from the insane heat we have been having out here in the Portland area. Unfortunately it does look like the heat will be coming back later this week but on the bright side it looks like a potentially great sunset tonight…
As it remains cold dark and rainy I am enjoying thoughts of the warm evenings in Italy. Delicious food and wine to take in the views with is the most relaxing and wonderful experience to be able to have. You might say I miss Sicily in many many ways!
Another shot of the tulips but this one is more of a remake of a similar shot I did last year! This shot includes ISU's colors in tulips though!!! Only a week and a half before graduation and I can't wait! #graduation #iowa #isu #tulips #spring #summer
I went out recently to the Oregon coast to explore and find new locations to shoot. This is the Cape Meares lighthouse that sits atop some massive cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. Sunset was pretty decent as well for my first stop at this incredible spot! This image is a crop of a panorama I took with my Nikon D750 and Nikon 16-35mm f/4. The editing was done in Photoshop to stitch and Lightroom for the editing and adjustments to light and color.
Last photo I'll be posting from last weekend. I took this as the ball was being thrown up in the air to catch it next to a reflection of the capital. I was really excited when I saw this captured on the back of my camera because it was exactly what I had been going for! Always fun to see a successful result #photochallenge #NCAA #desmoines #marchmadness
