Londoners relax on Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath.

One of the few remaining original Police phone posts. Made of cast iron, painted blue (red in Scotland). They were for the use of both public and the police. The first boxes appeared in 1891. The lantern on top flashed when police were required to contact their station.
