The ruins of the 14th century church can be seen on the right. Eastwell Manor was an English stately home near Ashford in Kent that served as a royal residence for a time. The original house was built between 1540 and 1550 for Sir Thomas Moyle by Richard Plantagenet (Richard of Eastwell), who claimed to be a son of Richard III of England. Much of the present house was built between 1793-1799 for George Finch Hatton, 9th Earl of Winchilsea.
Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, 1964. Her evening gown, designed by Cecil Beaton, was directly inspired by the costumes supplied by the Maison Lucile for the first London production of Lehar's operetta The Merry Widow in 1907.
