I love the use of rainbow rice as the texture gives an entirely different sensory experience for the children. The colour is also very inviting for the kids to explore as they please. My only concern is using this for children who come from low-income families, for whom using food as art or other non-eating activities may be a sensitive issue.
'Little Kid Treasure Hunt in Rice/Sand' -- inflatable pool for this. Little kid can sit in the middle & dig around. (Maybe do two of these - one with cheap plastic toys/sand - one with cheap metallic toys/rice that they have to use a magnet for). $21.99
'Little Kid Treasure Hunt in Rice/Sand' Station -- great for really little kids (2-5yrs). Huge kiddie swimming pool and fill with rice or sand. Then plant a bunch of small, metallic toys. Give the kids a magnet --- they could sit in the middle and look for toys. For slightly older kids, make them wear the eye patch.
