Place a stake at the corners of flower beds so when you're dragging the hose around, it doesn't drag over all the plants and trample them. Nice simple idea for something that probably happens to all of us.

Croquet Wickets as Hose Stakes - Make an arched pathway from the waterspout to the flower bed, then feed the hose through the wickets. Now the hose can’t migrate and crush your impatiens.
