The world's tallest building and Dubai's skyscrapers poke through thick fog. Ian says: "We get fog twice a year, in March and September, when the seasons change. The moisture in the morning cools and the fog start to appear. It reminds me of the cloud planet Coruscant with its Cloud City in Star Wars." Picture: Ian Powell / Barcroft Media
Dubai-based German photographer Sebastian Opitz captures the surreal and mystical look of his adopted city as fog rolls in and out at sunrise. The photographer renames the cityscape as Cloud City for the brief moments when the mist takes over and fills the empty space between the towering buildings. Optizs images offer a serene and dreamy view of a bustling city, re-imagining it as a heavenly metropolis in the sky.
