The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado is a fictitious story that draws from the Nativity story in the Bible. Some people don't like Christian Christmas fiction, because they feel its confusing to kids, but I think this book is clearly a story and not easily confused with the events of the Bible. The illustrations in this book are simply lovely.
Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion is a classic wordless book. it is a book about a dog that hates taking baths. Since he hates them so much he decides to bury the bath brush in his yard and run away. When he runs away he gets dirty and very lonely. The story ends with him going back home and digging up his brush and getting a bath. This would be a good book to teach young students about good hygiene and the need to take baths/showers.
