For this sophisticated country pub in Sussex, Studio Jansen created an interior which was a blend of traditional and vintage, using natural leathers and fabrics, quirky yet traditional wallpaper and bespoke lighting. An exterior scheme in keeping with the venue's surroundings was created in a fresh sky blue with new plantings and signage and a refurbishment of the existing classic coach lanterns.

It’s not only ales – ten at any one time, but Sambrook's Wandle and Harveys Sussex Best are regulars – but traditional cider and perry too. Sausages still sizzle away on the hob beside the bar, where cheery regulars chat with the staff or study the racing form.
