Oh, who doesn't love kolaches and coffee for breakfast or an afternoon snack? Originally from the Czech Republic (baked 10/27/2013), kolaches are the quintessential pastry. I used cherry, apricot, and pear preserves in mine, but I really want to make this again with lemon curd or maybe mint jelly. (They can also be made savory as well, filled with meats and cheeses.) It takes around six hours to make because the dough requires a lot of rest time. But it's so worth the wait.
