Image 16. Here I've added the gold detail on the fire. This was tricky to get the right tones and to create the right shape. I like how the fire has taken shape now.

Image 20. I have completed the back and now working on her face. I started with adding tones, like her cheek where this is more pink and her nose where its shaded. I added her lips using a red tone and started on her eye. I added a line and placed colour above it for her eye shadow. This has probably been my favourite part. I added tones to her ear and added part of her earing which is the white. I painted more brown on her hair as i felt this looked black before.

Image 23. Finished! I added the ladies hair which was over her face. I was nervous about this as I didn't want to mess it up. I used a very small brush to keep the colour thin. I also added shades to the mirror surround creating a more curved effect. I have really enjoyed painting this picture even thought there were some down sides such as, the oil paints taking so long to dry and the finger prints from a certain 4 year old. I really enjoyed working with oil paints as you can…

Image 18. I have completed the painting to the left of the lady and now working on the finishing touches to the ladies back. Ive added darker tones to create shaded areas on her back and lighter colours to highlight her skin in parts.

Image 17. I have finished the fire place and now started on the picture to the left of the lady. I added the street lights and shades of trees. I also painted the car and put the headlights on. While the paint was wet I added the reflection in the road. I found this easy to paint whitest wet as it blended better into different shades.

Image 14. I've added shades to the ladies back. Creating definition on the shoulders and spine. There is still more shading to be added. I will do this when the oils are a little more dry. I've also had to paint the shading in the mirror again as my small son didn't believe that oil paints take longer to dry than other paints and thought he'd touch it to see. This worked out good as I prefer the tones in the shading.

Image 13. I've added the back underwear on the lady. I think this should of been put in before the blue gown was painted as I had to go over the gown with the blue for a sharper edge. I added more brush strokes to the dress also. I found the dress was quite tricky with positioning the brush strokes so it gave the same effect.

Image 22. I've finished the two pictures to the left of the lady in the white frames. These pictures needed complete when wet as the tones needed to be textured and moved around. I have also completed the picture in the mirrors reflection. This was tricky to get the right shades but I feel this looks good now completed.

Image 12. Here I've added the lighter tones of blue to add detail in the gown. I feel this has worked well and I'm really happy with the brush strokes.
