Porsche wanted the 918 to be so over-the-top that a traditional gasoline engine couldn't cut it anymore. So, Porsche went hybrid. The resulting 918 Spyder makes an utterly mad 887 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque from a combination of electric motors and 4.6 liter V8 derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 car.
