Although I employ the full range of sculptural language from representational to abstract, my passion is to express the figure as simply as possible to capture the essence of the pose and create space for the transcendent message to resonate with the viewer. Born and raised in Tennessee, Clay participated in the…

I used to have this idea that making art was somewhat of a selfish act because the act of creating gives so much to me and makes me feel so good. But as I continue to put my art into the world I see that art is not selfish it is self-filling. Because it fills me up with so much joy it means that it is allowing me to give back to the world in tremendous ways if only through uplifting my own spirit for the benefit of humanity. However I also see that it does more than that. When someone…

A bit of a first here. Well. A couple of actually. First piece done using a proper easel (thanks to mother and father in law) and first piece that's been worked on over more than one day (before til just after midnight doesn't count). I'm still. I was deliberately keeping it a bit loose to see if I could…

Art is amazing; it is an extremely valuable part of life. It shows us different perspectives, it is a way of expression, and it brings a light into our lives. Sometimes we take it for granted, but I know that without art, life would be sad, and lonely, and not colorful at all.I know that as I look at art, I see how maybe the artist emphasizes certain things that maybe I haven’t paid attention to in those situations at all before. Like Michelangelo’s David, from one angle he looks confident…

I must agree with the comment provided by Patricia with regards to the state of preserving memories of Diana. Comments by Patricia "But as I see it apart from William and Harry carrying on her legacy, I think the rest of the royal family would rather Diana was forgotten." | "Unfortunately the UK isn't as good at preserving her memory as the USA is, which is very disappointing for me as I am from the UK."
